Instalacja i udostępnianie łącza - Modem z Astera do UPC ?

Temat postu: Modem z Astera do UPC ?

Posiadam obecnie 60 mb/s w Asterze i modem Cisco 3212, czy przechodząc do UPC z internetem o tej samej prędkości mogę zachować ten modem ? Czy może bić się o Cisco 3208 ? Który jest lepszy ?
Czy w przypadku chęci szybszego internetu 120 mb/s też mogę zachować ten modem ?
Bardzo mi zależy na modemie, a nie pseudo routerze z WIFI.

Jeśli będzie to nadal na kablach byłej Aster to tak, natomiast jeśli "ktoś" zdecyduje, że jednak położą Ci nowe kable już typowo od UPC to Ci ten modem zabiorą, i dostaniesz 'coś" innego.

j.w, ale bądź dobrej myśli, najczęściej nikomu nie chce się kłaść specjalnie własnych kabli dla UPC i zostawiają tak jak jest, więc przechodzisz do UPC a sprzętowo nic się dla Ciebie nie zmienia.

Fachowa odpowiedź, to rozumiem !
Czyli jest szansa, że ten obecny internet (Astera) będzie taki sam jak będę pod "opieką" UPC ? Czy jednak będę podłączony do jakiegoś głównego serwera-mózgu UPC i będzie różnica ? Bo tak ciągle się waham czy przechodzić do tego UPC.. :/

Nikt Ci nie da odpowiedzi na TAK postawione pytanie......!

Oczywiście, że po zmianie operatora, zmiana sprzętu u Ciebie w domu i oczywiście podpięcie Cię pod serwery UPC.

Nie byłbym tego taki pewny, zdaje się UPC ma obowiązek odsprzedać infrastrukturę aster o ile w danej lokalizacji istnieje ich własna. Idąc tym tropem będą na "siłę" przepinać pozyskanych klientów na własne "kabelki", czyli nowy modem/router ...

No właśnie, JEŚLI istnieje, a w tym przypadku widać, że nie istnieje w tej konkretnej lokalizacji.

Po co mieli by to robić, jeśli położą swoje kable muszą to co kupili po byłym Aster sprzedać a takie działanie to inwestycja (wydana kasa na okablowanie całego bloku, choć nie maja pewności ilu klientów pozyskają), a pozyskają 2 abonentów w tej lokalizacji, bo reszta nie chce tego działania i zostaje na kablach Astera...
Wszystko rozbija się o kasę a dokładnie o koszty, tam gdzie są kable po Aster to UPC nie musi praktycznie inwestować ani złotówki (inwestycja w terenie) a kasę goli z abonentów podpiętych do tej sieci, już analitycy to przeliczyli co się bardziej opłaca.

Żeby nie zaśmiecać forum kolejnym tematem to jeszcze spytam się o różnice między Asterem i UPC.
Na tej samej ulicy w dwóch mieszkaniach mam (informacje ze strony pingtest):
Aster
Ping 9
Packet loss: 0%
Jitter: 2 ms
A i ocena 4.40
UPC
Ping 10-11
Jitter: 1 ms
Packet loss: 0%
A i ocena 4.40
Czy to są znaczące różnice ? Jak to przekłada się na gry online ?

Nie są znaczące. Brak strat pakietów w obu przypadkach. Ping w Aster 9ms wahający się średnio o 2ms. W UPC średni ping 10ms wahający się średnio o 1ms. Praktycznie to samo.

wszystko zalezy jaka to gra tzn w jakim kraju sa serwery, jaka jest trasa pakietow itd.

Zrobiłem więc testy obydwu łącz: Asterowskiego i UPC. Bloki z dwoma mieszkaniami są oddalone od siebie w odległości ~250 metrów.
Test zrobiony za pomocą programów WinMTR i PingPlotter (zrobiony test na adresie serwera).

różnica w pingu do google jest dlatego, że pingowany był inny adres IP w obu przypadkach. Jeden jest zlokalizowany w plixie a drugi za granicą - stąd różnica w pingu.
Generalnie nie ma prawa być różnicy między łączami UPC i ASTER bo połączenie leci przez te same routery. Ewentualne różnice mogą wynikać z jakości sygnału RF. Bardzo możliwe skoro to lokalizacje oddalone o 250m, że sieć kablowa jest obsługiwana przez ten sam CMTS a być może nawet ten sam nod optyczny.

Praktycznie obie sieci już korzystają technicznie z tych samych UPC-owych mózgów . Tak dla uproszczenia to nazwałem . I jedyna różnica to system zarządzania abonentem który jeszcze działa po exAsterze . Po prostu modem otrzymuje plik konfiguracyjny z exAster lub z UPC . W zależności jak operator zdecyduje w konkretnym przypadku . Co do modemów to nie trzeba w ogóle ich wymieniać tylko wystarczy przełączyć u operatora zarządzanie , zapodać odpowiedni soft i działa . Ale polityka firmy może niektórych modemów nie dopuszczać do eksploatacji . Co do kabli to kable są praktycznie takie same ale UOKIK wymusił sprzedaż więc operator przełącza klientów na klatkach do swoich skrzynek czy to istniejących czy też nowo wybudowanych . W mieszkaniach nic nie trzeba zmieniać o ile sprzęt jest politycznie poprawny . A podane powyżej CISCO akurat jest .

To, co się rzuca w oczy to różnica na początku. Pierwszy hop w sieci Aster ma na starcie 15-30ms. Nie znam się na tym jak Aster dostarczał internet i podejrzewać tylko mogę, że w mieszkaniu nie było routera, więc pierwszy hop jest już w infrastrukturze Aster. 15-30ms to całkiem sporo... więcej niż do wielu popularnych serwerów w Polsce. To wstępne opóźnienie powoduje potem, że pierwszy wspólny hop (89-75-20-142.infra.chello.pl) pokazuje dla Aster 20-30ms, a dla UPC 6ms. Różnica w opóźnieniu do hosta docelowego jest także konsekwencją tego dziwnie dużego opóźnienia na pierwszym odcinku w mieszkaniu z łączem Astera.
